   = ಆದಪನು or ಅದಹನು (3rd. person singular of the present of ಆಗು to be), originally meaning "he is" but, in opposition to ಅದಾನೆ (which has the emphatic ಎ on its final and therefore expresses certainty), ಅದಾನು has got the meaning of "he perhaps is, he may be" (S. Mhr.). conjugation: ಅದೇನು (= ಅದಪೆಂ), ಅದೀ (= ಅದಪಮ್), ಅದಾನು, ಅದಾಳು (= ಅದಪಳ್), ಅದೀತು (= ಆದಪುದು), ಅದೇವು, ಅದಾರು, ಅದಾವು cf. ಅದಾನು and observe ಅಗು 1, of which an ಅದಪಹನು might be formed. cf. also ಇದ್ಧಾನು.
