   ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಹೇಳಲಿಕ್ಕೆ, ಬದನೆಕಾಯಿ ತಿನ್ನಲಿಕ್ಕೆ śastra hēḷalikke, badanekāyi tinnalikke (prov.) talk like philosophers, live like fools; to be a hypocritic preacher, reformer; ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕೇಳು śastra kēḷu to consult an astrologer about one's future; ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಮಾಡು śastra māḍu to observe the religious formalities; 2. It is a custom to worship Gaurī in the month of Caitra. 5 (rit.) ritual 6 (fort.) prediction, divination, soothsaying ű ಅವನು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟ. He failed as he believed in the prediction.
