The Frog King

This collection of stories from neighboring countries like China, Japan, Korea, Tibet, the Philippines, and Russia brings the world closer to us. In any language, the characters in these stories are just like the people around us. There are conmen, thieves, liars, and people with bad attitudes. But there are also generous, trustworthy, truthful, honest, and obedient individuals. Just like us, there are animals and birds that get into unnecessary troubles and struggle to triumph. Each story carries a moral, some philosophy, and a great lesson for leading our lives. Why should we read stories from other lands? By exploring these tales, we realize that people from different countries are also human beings just like us. We shed our prejudices and see that they talk, behave, and think like us. It’s a relief to learn that they share the same humanity. Take the Korean stories in this book, for example. They are no different from the stories we tell in our homes when we gather together. "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" – The whole world is a family. This book affirms that beautifully. Dive into this treasure trove of stories and discover the universal threads that connect us all!
