   a rag etc. Tbh. of ಕನ್ಥೆ (Śmd. 338; My.; see ಶತ). ಕನ್ತೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಬೊನ್ತೆ (Prv.). [ಕನ್ತೆ ಬೊನ್ತೆಯ ಜಂಗಮ ಬನ್ದರೆ ಹೀನವೆನ್ದು ಕಣ್ಡಿನಾದರೆ ಪಂಚಮಹಾಪಾತಕ Bv. 411]. 2, uselessness, vainness (of words, business, things, as ಕನ್ತೆಮಾತು etc., My.). ಕನ್ತೆ ಬಿಸಾಡು to throw one's rags away: to die (My.).
