   the twenty-seventh letter of the alphabet (Śmd. 12. 21-23). its use in Kannaḍa and Tadbhava words is very limited, as it occurs only in ಛಟ, ಛಮ (74), ಛಮ್ಮನೆ (22). ಛ/?/ಲೆನೆ (1), ಛರ್ಪಿಸು, ಛಲ್ಲ, ಏಕಛಾಯ (23), and in ಇರ್ಛಾಸಿರಂ, ಎಣ್ಛಾಸಿರಂ; ನೂರ್ಛಾಸಿರಂ, ಪದಿನೆಣ್ಛಾಸಿರಂ wherein it replaces ಸ್ (22. 83).
