   1 (tight) to fasten, to tighten《a belt, knot, etc.》 ű ಅವನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಬಿಗಿದು ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆದ. He tightened the belt around his waist and walked out to fight. 2 (tight) to bind tightly 《somebody or something, to fasten》 ű ಜನ ಕಳ್ಳನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದು ಹೊಡೆದರು. People fastened the thief to a tree and beat him. 3 (tight) to put《a fetter, handcuffs, etc.》 ű ಪೋಲಿಸರು ಕಳ್ಳನಿಗೆ ಕೋಳ ಬಿಗಿದು ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡುಹೋದರು. The police put a handcuff to the thief and dragged him away. 4 (beat) to strike, to exercise《blow with a stick, fist, palm, etc.》ű ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಏಟು ಬಿಗಿ. Give him a blow. vi. (tight) to fit tight, to be tight ű ಈ ಅಂಗಿ ನನಗೆ ಬಿಗಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. This shirt is tight for me. (n.) 1 (tight)〈being〉 tight (as a knot, etc.) 2 (hard) 〈being〉strong (as a building, construction, etc.) ű ಮನೆಯ ಗೋಡೆಗಳು ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. The walls of the house are not strong enough. 3 (strict)〈being〉strict (as discipline, rule, etc.) ű ನಮ್ಮ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಯಮಗಳು ತುಂಬಾ ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗಿವೆ. The rules in our school are very strict. 4 (hard) 〈being〉difficult, difficult to solve ű ಈ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ತುಂಬ ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. This sum is very difficult to solve. 5 (tight)〈being〉tight (as the structure of a literary work, etc.) n. 1 (strike) blow (with a stick, fist, palm, etc.) 2 (mass) armful ű ಒಂದು ಬಿಗಿ ಹುಲ್ಲು ತಂದು ಕುದುರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಕು.
