   the town with (a temple of) Pārvatī, the present Maṅgaḷūru. the N. ಮಂಗಳಾಪುರ is found in a śāsana of śālivāhanaśaka 1225 on a stone-pillar in front of a temple that then was called ನೀರದೇವಾಲಯ and at present is dedicated to Hanumat; the śāsana was granted by a ruler of the Pāṇḍya race.
