(Prvs.). ಅರ್ಥದ ಮರ್ಮವನ್ ಅರಿಯದೈ, ವ್ಯರ್ಥಂ ತಾಂ ಕಲಿತರೇನು ಪದಪದ್ಯಗಳಂ? ಮುತ್ತು ಹವಳಂ ಹಣಂಗಳ ಕತ್ತೈಯು ತಾಂ ಹೌತ್ತರೇನು? ಬೈಲೈಯರಿದಪ್ಪುದೇ? (Subhāṣita kandapadya).
