   ಮಿಗಿಲು (n.)｟-ಇಂತ｠1 (comp)〈being〉more (in quantity) ű ಅವನು ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮಿಗಿಲಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. He spends more time in talking than in his work. 2 (value)〈being〉better, superior ű ವಿದ್ಯೆಗಿಂತ ಮಿಗಿಲಾದುದು ಯಾವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. There is nothing superior to learning.

   ಮಿಗಿಲ್ = ಮಿಗಲು greatness, muchness, abundance; excellence, superiority, surpassingness; superabundance, excess; remainder, rest (Tu.; Te. ಮಿಗಲೈ, ಮಿಗುಲು, ಮಿಗುಲೈ). [ಗಣ್ಡಗಾಡಿ ನೂರ್ಮಡಿ ಮಿಗಿಲಾದುದು Pb. 8, 101; Ap. 5, 22]. ನಲನ್...ಪತ್ನಿಪಾರ್ವತಿಗೈ ನಾಕು ಮಡಿ ಮಿಗಿಲ್ (Rām. 3, 2, 18). ಜನಪಂ...ಆಳ್ದನು, ಜನಪರಲಿ ಮಿಗಿಲೈನಿಸಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯವ (3, 2, 25). ಸನ್ದ ನಾಡು ಸಮಸ್ತ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಿನ್ದ ಪೂರಿತ ಹಸ್ತಿನಾಪುರದಿನ್ದ ಮಿಗಿಲ್ (Bh. 1, 8, 27). see Ch. v. 4, 8; Cpr. 2, 91; 5, 26; Bp. 52, 8. — ಮಿಗಿಲಾಗು. -ಆಗು to become or be greater or superior, to surpass, to excel (J. 18, 25; My.). ಗಜಹಯರೂಢಿಯೌಳ್ ಭಗದತ್ತನಿನ್ ಆ ನಲನಿಂ ಮಿಗಿಲಾದಂ (Śmd. 203). ತಪ್ಪದೀ ಪಥಮ್ ಎಲ್ಲರೌಳು ಮಿಗಿಲಪ್ಪ ಕನ್ನದ ಬೌಮ್ಮಿದೇವಗಳ್ (Bp. 31, 25). ಮಿಗಿಲಾದವನ ಹತ್ತರ ಹಗೈ ಸಲ್ಲ,ನಗೈಗಾರನ ಹತ್ತರ ಮೈತ್ರಿ ಸಲ್ಲ (Prv.). 2, to be left as a remnant (My.).
