ಕಿಟ್ಟೆಲ್ ನಿಘಂಟು

   (fr. ಶ್ರದ್ದಾ). faithful, believing, 2, a funeral ceremony observed at various fixed periods, consisting of offerings of piṇḍās (balls of meal) with water and fire to the gods and manes, and of gifts and food to relations present and assisting Brāhmaṇas (ತಾಯಿ ತನ್ದೈಗಳ ಸಮ್ಬನ್ಧವಾದ ಕರ್ಮ G.; see Si. 244; B. 4, 215). ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧದೌಳಗೈ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿನ್ದ ಮಾಡುವ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರ ಸೇವೈ (ಪರ್ಯೇಷಣೈ G.). ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧದ ಊಟಕ್ಕೈ ಕರದು, ಶ್ರಮ ಪಡಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೈ. -ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿ ವಡೈ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕಿನ್ತ ಮದುವೈ ಮಾಡಿ ಒಬ್ಬಟ್ಟು ತಿನ್ನುವದು ಲೇಸು (Prvs.).
