   = ಪುಟ etc. Tbh. of ಪುಟ a cup or hollow formed by folding, especially that formed by joining the palms of the hands in token of respect. — ಪೌಡ ಮಡಸು. = ಪೌಡಮಡಿಸು (Bp. 48, 30; 53, 62). — ಪೌಡಮಡಿಕೈ. = ಪೌಡವಡಿಕೈ (ತುಳಿಲ್ Kk. 76). — ಪೌಡ ಮಡಿಸು to cause to salute respectfully (Bp. 4, 43). 2, to have oneself saluted (4, 68). — ಪೌಡ ಮಡು. = ಪೌಡವಡು. to join the palms of the hands into a cup (and thus to lift them up towards the forehead in token of respect), to make obeisance, to salute respectfully [ಗಾಂಗೇಯಂ...ಅರ್ಘ್ಯಮಂ ಕೌಟ್ಟು ಪೌಡಮಟ್ಟು Pb. 1, 77 va.]; (ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ Śmd. (Bp. 6, 27). — ಪೌಡವಡಿಕೈ. - ಮಡಿಕೈ a respectful salutation (ತುಳಿಲ್ Śmd. I & II; ತುಳಿಲ್, ಎರಗು, ಮೌಳ್ಗು, ಮಣಿ, ಕುಮ್ಬು, ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ Śm. 34). — ಪೌಡವಡು. = ಪೌಡ ಮಡು (ಮುಳ್ಗು Śmd. I; Cpr. 4, 13 va. & 14 va.; 4, 74; 5, 91 va. & 121; Abh. P. 10, 181 va.). [ಒಳ್ಳಿತಪ್ಪ ದಿವಸ ವಾರ ವಿದ್ಯಾನಕ್ಷತ್ರದನ್ದು ತಮ್ಮನುಕೂಲದೋಜರ್ಗೈರಗಿ ಪೌಡವಟ್ಟು ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರಾರಮ್ಭಂಗೈಯ್ದರ್ Vr. 3, 24] ದೇವರ್ಗೈ ಪೌಡವಟ್ಟಂ (Śm. 159, o. r. ಪೌಡ ಮಟ್ಟಿಂ). ವಿದ್ಯಾದೇವತೈಗೈ ಪೌಡವಟ್ಟು (Abh. P. 14, 105 va.). — ಪೌಡವಡುಹ. - ಮಡುಹ saluting respectfully. ಪೌಂಗಿ ಪೌಡವಡುಹಂ (ನಮ, ವನ್ದನ Mr. 461).

(manifestation), appearance; form, figure, shape (Te. ಪೌಡೈ cf. ಪೌಳಕು also Te. s. ಪುಗ್ಗು ?). — ಪೌಡಕರಿಸು. = ಹೌಡಕರಿಸು to make one's appearance, to come in sight, to appear, to become manifest (ಕಣ್ಣಲೈ, ಪೌಚ್ಚರಿಸು Śmd. II; Kk. 75; C. Bp. 0, 21; Te. ಪೌಡೈ ಗಟ್ಟು ). ಪೌಸಗಾರ ಸಿಡಿಲ ಮಸಕಮನ್ ಅಸಕಳಿದು, ಕೃತಾನ್ತ ಜಿಹ್ವೈ ಪೌಡಕರಿಸುವವೌಲ್, ಬೈಸಸು ಬೈಸಸೈನ್ದು, ಕರಮ್ ಅರ್ಬಿಸೈ ಸನ್ನಿಧಮಾಯ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯೈ ರಾವಣನಿದಿರೌಳ್ (Abh. P. 14, 105).
