   = (ಮದ, etc.), ಮದುವೈ. wedding, marriage (ವಿವಾಹ, ಉಪಯಮ, ಪರಿಣಯ, ಉದ್ವಹ, ಉಪಯಾಮ, ಪಾಣಿಪೀಡನ Si. 255; My.). ಬಕನ ಬಾರಿ, ಮಗನ ಮದಿವೈ. -ಕುರುಡಿಯ ಮದಿವೈಯಾದರೈ ಮನೇ ಗಡಿಗೈಗೈ ಮೂಲ (Prvs.). — ಮದಿಮೈ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೌಡು. to give (a daughter) away as wife (My.). — ಮದಿಮೈ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೌಳ್ಳು. = ಮದುವೈ-. to marry, to take a husband or a wife (My.). ಅಗ್ನಿಸಾಕ್ಷಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೌಣ್ಡ ಹೈಣ್ಟತಿ (ಪತ್ನಿ, etc. Si. 183). ತನ್ನ ಜಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೌಣ್ಡ ಹಿಣ್ಡತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ವೀರ್ಯಕ್ಕೈ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮಗನು (ಔರಸ etc. 190). — ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡಿಸು. = ಮದಿವೈ-. to cause a marriage to take place, as the purōhita by his superintendence and instructions, as a liberal man by pecuniary assistance, etc. (My.). ಅವನಿಗೈ (ಅವಳಿಗೈ, ಅವರಿಗೈ) ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡಿಸು, or ಅವನ (ಅವಳ, ಅವರ) ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡಿಸು (My.). — ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡು. = ಮದುವೈ-. to institute marriage for a son or daughter, or for a brother or sister, with the proper rites, to perform the act of giving in marriage, to marry. ತನ್ದೈ ತಾಯಿಗಳು ಮಕ್ಕಳ or ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೈ ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೈ; ಅಣ್ಣನು ತಮ್ಮನ (or ತಮ್ಮನಿಗೈ) ಮದುವೈ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೈ, etc. (My.). ನಾನೇ ಒಲ್ಲೈ ನೈನ್ದರೈ ನಮ್ಮಪ್ಪ ಯಾರಿಗೈ ಮದಿವೈ ಮಾಡ್ಯಾನು? -ಹುಚ್ಚು ಹೋಗದೈ ಮದಿವೈ ಆಗದು, ಮದಿವೈ ಆಗದೈ ಹುಚ್ಚು ಹೋಗದು (Prvs.). see Prvs. s. ನೀಲಕಣ್ಠ, ಸಾವಿರ. - ಮದಿವೈಯಾಗು. -ಆಗು. = ಮದಿವೈ-. marriage to take place; to enter into the conjugal or connubial state, to marry; to be married; to be married to. ಮೌನ್ನೈ ಮದಿವೈಯಾದೈನಯ್ (Dp. 4). ನಾನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮದಿವೈಯಾದೈನು (My.). ನಿಮಗೈ ಮದಿವೈ ಆಯಿತೋ? or ಆಗಿದೈಯೋ?
