   = ಸಗ್ಗ 1, ಸೌರ್ಗ. the heaven of Indra, the abode of the deities and of beatified mortals (supposed to be situated on the mountain Mēru; ನಾಕ Nn. 154; ನಾಕ, ದೇವಾಗಾರ 71; ದೇವಲೋಕ 115; ನಾಕ, ಸುರಾವಾಸ 128; ದೇವಲೋಕ Hlā. s. ಪೈಸರು). 2, happiness, joy (ಸುಖ 154). 3, that exists from eternity (ಅನಾದಿ 154; this may belong to ಸ್ವರ್ಗ 2). 4, N. of a metrical foot (Ch.). ಸ್ವರ್ಗದ ಬಾಗಲಿಗೈ ನರಕದ ನಾಯಿ. -ಸ್ವರ್ಗವೂ ತಪ್ಪಿತು, ದುರ್ಗವೂ ತಪ್ಪಿತು. -ಸ್ವರ್ಗವೈಮ್ಬುವದು ದುರ್ಗದ ಬಾಗಲೋ? -ತಾನು ಸಾಯ ಬೇಕು, ಸ್ವರ್ಗಾ ಪಡಿಯ ಬೇಕು. -ದೂಳಿ ದೂಪವಾದೀತೇ? ಮಾಳಿಗೈ ಸ್ವರ್ಗವಾದೀತೇ? -ನರಕದ ಬಾಗಲಿಗೈ ಸ್ವರ್ಗದ ಬಾಲಕನೋ? -ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರುಣವಿಲ್ಲ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣವಿಲ್ಲ;-ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇದವಿಲ್ಲ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ರೋಗವಿಲ್ಲ (Prvs.). ಖಣ್ಡಿಸದೈ ಕರಣವನು, ದಣ್ಡಿಸದೈ ದೇಹವನು, ಉಣ್ಡುಣ್ಡು ಸ್ವರ್ಗವಯ್ದಲ್ಕೈ ಅದೇನ್? ರಣ್ಡಾಳುತಾಳೈ? (Sp.). ಸಜ್ಜನರಿಗೈ ಸ್ವರ್ಗದ ಸುಖವೂ ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೈ ನರಕದ ಬಾಧೈಯೂ ಕೇಡಿಲ್ಲದೈ ಉಣ್ಟಾಗುತ್ತವೈ (B. 5, 279).
