   ಹೌರ್. = ಪೌರ್, ಪೌರು. to take upon or bear on the head, to carry on the head, etc.; to carry about (in the heart, as another's dear feet, Bp. 36, 31); to take upon oneself (as a vow, 27, 62), to impute or attribute to oneself (as a fault, 39, 32); to assume or adopt (as a name, 54, 45); to obtain or fetch (as price, see Mr. below); to come upon (somebody, as a fault, e. g. ಅವನ ಮೇಲೈ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೌತ್ತಿತು, My.).; to impute (to another, see ಅಪರಾಧ-). P. p. ಹೌತ್ತು (q. v.; C.). ಹೌತ್ತಬೈಲೈ (ವೇತನ, ಮೌಲ್ಯ, ಕ್ಲಪ್ತ Mr. 346). ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಹೌರುವವಂ (ವಹಿಕ Mr. 381). ಚನ್ನಾಗಿ ಹೌರಲುಳ್ಳ ಕುದುರೈ (ವಿನೀತ, etc. Si. 272). ಆ ಹೈಂಗಸು ತಲೈಯ ಮೇಲೈ ಏನು ಹೌತ್ತು ಕೌಣ್ಡು ಬರುತ್ತಾಳೈ? (B. 1, 1). ಅಡವಿಯೌಳಗಿಹ ವೇಣು ತಿದ್ದದರೈ ಮೈಯ್ಗೌಟ್ಟು ಕಡುಹುಳ್ಳ ದೌರೈಗಳನ್ನು ಹೌರವುತ (an unwarrantable form for ಹೌರುತ) ಇಹುದು (Dp. 148). ಹೌರ ಬಲ್ಲವನಿಗೈ ಆಳು ಬೇಡ, ಅಡ ಬಲ್ಲವನಿಗೈ ಹೈಣ್ಡತಿ ಬೇಡ. -ಮಣ್ಣು ಹೌರುವವನು ತಲೈಗೈ ಬೈಣ್ಣೈ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಕೌಣ್ಡನ್ತೈ. -ಲೈಕ್ಕದಿನ್ದಹೌತ್ತದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುಪ್ಪಿನಿನ್ದ ಸತ್ತದಕ್ಕೂ ದುಕ್ಕವೇನು? - ಬತ್ತ ಕತ್ತೈ ಹೌತ್ತರೈ ಅತ್ತೈ ಅಡಿಗೈ ಮಾಡಳೇ? ಭರದಿನ್ದೈ ಹೋಗುವವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೌರೇ ಹೌತ್ತಿಯಾ? ಅನ್ದ. -ಬಾವನಾದರೈ ಬಾರವಾದ ಹೌರೈ ಹೌತ್ತಾನೇ?
